To help Agrovale achieve vertical growth and increase sugarcane productivity despite chronic water and land shortage.
Country: Brazil
Crop: Sugarcane
Type: Open field
Size: 16,000 ha (3080 with drip)
Back in 2007, Agrovale, a leading Brazilian producer of sugar, ethanol and bio-energy, chose Netafim to help maximize the company’s productivity within its existing plantations. Drawing on nearly 40 years of extensive experience in the field of sugarcane cultivation, the Netafim team delivered a precision irrigation system complete with automation capabilities, supported by tailored on-site agronomy planning and support. This enabled Agrovale to significantly increase its cane yields up to 140 ton/ha, while maximizing land utilization, reducing water consumption and lowering overall operating costs.

Learn how Netafim Projects can help design and deliver your next agricultural masterpiece.
Given the vast area of the plantation and the severe water limitations, Netafim’s team implemented an end-to-end solution covering bulk water supply from a local reservoir and the installation of a highly water-efficient subsurface drip irrigation system that could be operated automatically and that enabled labor-saving mechanization.
